Scott graduated from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse with honors in Political Science and Public Administration before earning his law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law.
During law school, he worked in the Post-Conviction Clinic representing non-violent drug offenders petitioning the courts for clemency. After graduation, he worked for Thomson Reuters in the Twin Cities, clerked for a judicial officer on the Iron Range, and served as a public defender for five years before opening his own firm.
